MY THOUGHTS

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

THIS TOO SHALL PASS

My friend had a baby a few weeks ago. This is her second child. After several days she was still happy but soooo tired, now taking care of two little children plus lots of other things. To her, it looked like it would always be like this, no time to rest at all. I tried to comfort her by saying this would not last forever, but that was of little comfort to her. This made me think of what I put into these words and then I was able to explain so it made sense to her.

Actually, I consider this to be the best technique I have ever learnt in my life. "This too shall pass". As human beings, we tend to overthink so much, to isolate ourselves in our suffering. 'This will last forever... I am the only one experiencing this... No one can understand/feel the same...'

But the truth is that we all experience hard times. Circumstances may be different, but all people suffer. This is just a part of human nature. But good times come, too. We get over challenges, feel better, get new challenges...

With time I learned to remind myself every time that "this too shall pass". It can be anything: not feeling well; a child getting sick; an unpleasant conversation; a quarrel at home; exhaustion; losing a job; a war (like one in my dear country now)... It takes patience, prayer, meditation, crying alone or with others, asking for help or anything else that can help, but what you are going through is not going to last forever. Many people experienced this before and endured. So I will, too. And you will, too.

Just keep going! Ask for help, get support but know that you are not alone and you can do it! "This too shall pass", my friend!

THERE IS LIFE EVERYWHERE

THERE IS LIFE EVERYWHERE

My walks in the woods are always so recharging and inspiring. I find so much imperfection and beauty in the same things. I see so many challenges some plants had to go through to grow. This made them so different and yet so beautiful!

Also, there is so much life everywhere. Even in places where life ended. Like on this photo: an old tree stump became a cozy home for many plants (even for a tree) and tiny creatures.

This made me think of many times in my life when something ended: relationships, jobs, living in a certain place, health issues, peaceful life… Sometimes it feels like the end, like there is nothing more on the other side, like it couldn’t get worse. However, with time things change, we learn a lot on the way, meet new people and new opportunities. We grow and become capable of solving problems on a higher level later in life.

It does not make any terrible events better and sad circumstances happier, it does not bring people back to life, but it does help to deal with reality. To see real life. There are things we cannot change. We can only do what we can. However, if we see and accept this, we get the superpower to change what we can with the little we have.

So may many things that died in our lives (including our old fears and beliefs) turn into a fertile soil for something new and beautiful!
